A User’s Guide on What to Do
If your phone is lost or stolen, someone
else could run up a large bill if you don’t act right away,
so here’s a guide on what you need to do to stop that happening.
Within working hours call us;
0131 557 8300
As soon as you tell us about the loss of your
phone we will start the process of getting your number suspended
by Vodafone.
We will also require you to send us details of your
request in writing preferably by email. This is for your protection,
so that we have proof that you made the request for suspension in
the unlikely event of the suspension mistakenly being lifted or
not placed properly.
Immediately upon receiving your request in writing
we will complete the suspension and reply to you with confirmation
that your number has now been suspended.
We will then provide you with a new SIM card and,
if you don’t have a spare, a new handset. If you are in Edinburgh
we can do this the very same day, otherwise you should receive your
new SIM and handset the next working day.
Once you have been assigned a new SIM number, your
previous one will be obsolete, so no-one will be able to use your
missing phone to run up calls against your number.
If you have pay insurance on your phone, Vodafone
will replace it for free if you report the theft to the police and
get a Crime Reference Number.
